Xena Necklace
This weave is variously known as the Japanese Overlay, Queen's Link or Queen's Box Link. I named it after Xena, the Warrior Princess, for its strength and beauty. Hand woven from Argentium (tarnish-resistant) sterling silver, this triple layered chain may be ordered with copper, goldfill or rosegoldfill middle layer for added depth and interest. Measuring 1/2" wide and 1/4" in height, this chain may be ordered in any length but is especially striking in shorter lengths. An 18" chain weighs in just under 2 ounces of pure sterling silver.
Argentium sterling silver is a modern tarnish-resistant sterling silver alloy which modifies the traditional alloy (92.5% silver + 7.5% copper) by replacing some of the copper with the metalloid germanium. As it retains the 92.5% silver content of the traditional alloy, it is still referred to as sterling silver. (Wikipedia)
